Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic music composer, performer and singer. The singer combines soul gospel with R&B to make a distinctive mix. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway and the Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine's given her name as Denise White. She is originally from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her career in music by playing the piano and singing in church. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she began her music career on the Atlanta's R&B culture. The Fighting Temptations The single with her voice on it, Stalk You A House 12 is only available in Japan. It has been remixed many times, and it is a mainstay of her live performances. She also lent her voice to the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. In 2005she took on the role of the drummer in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 about serving as the director of chorus for Dreamgirls, the theatre production at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine became the focus of attention in the course of four consecutive performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
